As Apple has released the MacBook Air, and Lenovo recently launched IdeaPad U260, so Asus also prepares a new ultraportable Asus U36 NVIDIA based notebook to tackle them. The new Asus U36 notebook features NVIDIA's Optimus graphics with the company's Super Hybrid Engine, as well as packs Intel Core i3 or i5 processors.
Firstly, the Asus U36 notebook comes with only 0.74 inches thick, which is 0.04 inches more than the IdeaPad U260, as well as 0.06 inches more than MacBook Air. In addition, the new U36 weighs in at 3.2 pounds, which is slightly more than the 2.9 pounds MacBook Air and 3.04 pounds U260.
What's more, in terms of battery life, the new Asus U36 notebook features a 4-cell battery with 10 hours runtime, while the IdeaPad U260 has only optional 4-cell battery providing a 4-hour battery life, as well as more than MacBook Air's roughly 5-7 hours of battery life.
Unfortunately, Asus did not announce more about the pricing, launch date and availability about the new Asus U36 NVIDIA based Notebook, but, it will not be far away.
